Hello and welcome to Patou's site!

Born in Belgium, Patou moved to Canada at the young age of 11. Back then, she was already fascinated by images and light. She was amazed by Ansel Adams work which led her to develop B&W photos in her own dark room in 1978.

Patou is in awe of how shadow and light play a role as important as the subject itself, and by harnessing this concept is able to create a wide range of moods to suit her vision.

Having worked in the film industry for the past 20 years has helped her to improve her sense of esthetics and to consider the importance of capturing the best image out of an event.

Through ongoing studies at Langara College, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver Photo Workshops, Patou is constantly refining her technical skills, which are reflected in her stunning professional works.
